Merry Christmas, everyone!

It feels almost poetic that I’m writing this again right before a flight — a familiar pattern by now. In a few hours, I’ll be boarding a plane to Tokyo , followed by 8 days of skiing at Sapporo. Christmas in Tokyo, New Year in powder snow — not a bad way to close the year. 🙂

Looking back, this has been a rollercoaster year.
There were setbacks — in relationships, in emotions, in moments of doubt — but there were also real achievements across work, investments, and personal growth. Compared to previous years, I’ve spent less time trading and far more time hodling, thinking, and building conviction. Fewer moves, but more intention.

A Big Milestone: Collecting My Condo Keys

One of the most meaningful updates heading into next year is this: 16 January- I’ll finally be collecting the keys to my new condo.

After nearly three years, this marks the beginning of a new phase. Once I complete some light renovation — curtains, lighting, flooring — the unit will be ready to be rented out. Rental income should start kicking in not long after.

This is also why I haven’t been aggressively building dividend positions recently. In a way, rental income becomes my “dividend”, and I plan to plough that cash flow back into equities over time.

Investing, Spending, and Learning to Enjoy the Journey

Something else shifted for me this year.

I’ve started spending a little more — not recklessly, but intentionally. Comfort, quality, and things that genuinely improve my daily life. I’ve come to believe that happiness isn’t just about watching portfolio numbers grow while life stays on hold.

Investment is a journey.
Life is also a journey.

Truth be told, I’ve never been fully aligned with the idea of extreme FIRE — saving every dollar, delaying enjoyment until FIRE, then suddenly “allowing” yourself to live. That approach can feel unnecessarily miserable. For me, earning well and spending reasonably along the way feels far more sustainable.

The Tesla Chapter (and Why I Love It)

Driving my Tesla this year reinforced that philosophy.

I genuinely love the car.

  • Regenerative braking still amazes me
  • My charging bill after two months? $170
  • Over-the-air updates
  • Everything controlled via a giant screen

It reminds me of the moment Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone — removing buttons, rethinking interfaces, and letting software do the heavy lifting. Tesla feels like that philosophy applied to cars.

Portfolio Updates & Market Conviction

Here are the numbers!! (I won’t be including my car value in my computation of my net worth)

NameStock Price (25 Dec)Portfolio
Tesla485.452.22%
Palantir194.1720.85%
NVIDIA188.618.18%
Shopify169.457.33%
QQQ623.936.03%
Lemonade79.84.28%
Roblox81.880.88%
ASML1065.520.23%
  • Stock Portfolio: ~$1,221,944
  • Crypto: ~$57,830
  • SRS: $79,839
  • Cash: ~$10k
  • Unlisted Securities: ~$700,000
  • Property Value (Equity Value): ~$549,869

Total net worth= $2.62mil

This year also came with simplification.

  • I sold my CATL position
  • I’m holding fewer companies, but with deeper conviction
  • I wrote call options on Shopify, open to divesting if prices hit my targets

At this stage, saving more money doesn’t move the needle that much for my net worth anymore. What matters far more is choosing the right investments with asymmetric upside. ROI beats aggressive saving — every time.

Tesla: Why I’m Still Excited About What’s Coming

Despite already holding 1,002 Tesla shares, my excitement hasn’t faded.

Here’s what I’m watching closely:

Tesla Semi Ramp

The Tesla Semi is entering full-scale ramp. This is not incremental — it’s transformational for logistics and energy efficiency.

Full Self-Driving (FSD)

Current FSD versions are already near end-to-end autonomy. With upcoming releases, the need to touch the wheel will become increasingly rare. This isn’t linear progress — it follows scaling laws, and scaling is exponential.

By the time Wall Street “gets it” or FSD gets widely licensed, stock price won’t be cheap anymore.

Robotaxi Economics

Robotaxis are already operating in limited locations. The real inflection point comes when safety monitors are fully removed. That’s when Tesla stops being just a car company and starts printing operating cash flow at scale.

What’s Next on My Radar

  • Exploring UiPath, though I haven’t pulled the trigger yet
  • Gradually setting aside capital for a potential SpaceX investment
  • Increasing my NVidia positions

Closing Thoughts

This year taught me that progress doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it’s quieter — fewer trades, fewer decisions, but better ones.

I’ll be celebrating Christmas in Tokyo, then welcoming the New Year in Hokkaido’s snow. Wherever you are, I hope this season brings you rest, reflection, and gratitude.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Here’s to a steadier climb, clearer conviction, and enjoying the journey along the way. 🎄✨
